We announce with some regret that Stop Time has spun its last disc. After three years of great jazz, we are winding up the show. Producing Stop Time was a rewarding and fun experience, but one which consumed many evening and weekend hours. We would like to pursue other personal and volunteer interests.
Thank you to our listeners, to the staff at CJFX (Dave MacLean, Scott MacLeod, Barry MacKinnon and others), to the Department of Music (especially department secretary Alice Jewers) and the Angus L. Macdonald Library (Music Room librarian Carolyn Delorey) at St. Francis Xavier University, and to Thane Sherrington and Computer Connection for much technical help. And finally, a special thanks to the musicians whom we have met and interviewed, and whose music we have so much enjoyed.
Show No. 129 - April 10
It's our farewell show! We'll play a few of the most important tunes from our three years on the air, and say "Thanks!" to everyone who has helped us along the way.

[NOTE: Show time is now 10:05 p.m. Sundays only.]
Hosted by Leslie Smith and Kevin MacDonell, Stop Time will feature music from every era, interviews with local and visiting performers, and news of upcoming concerts and events.
The aim is to attract new fans to the world of jazz. Much of the music will consist of jazz standards. The work of local artists will also figure prominently.
The hosts are grateful to the Music Department at St.F.X. University for offering access to their music library, and to CJFX for creating this wonderful opportunity.
Leslie Smith has a Diploma in Jazz Studies from St.F.X., and plays clarinet and baritone saxophone. She has held a steady position as a baritone sax player in an Annapolis Valley-based big band. A public-school band and music teacher for 16 years, she currently teaches band, choir and music at Tamarac Education Centre in Port Hawkesbury.
Kevin MacDonell is a freelance journalist, editor and web designer living in Havre Boucher, N.S. A non-musician, he is nevertheless a big fan of the music.
